EXPLORING DIFFERENT CELESTIAL OBJECTS WITH GOOGLE




Steps:

·        To explore, different celestial objects on sky, go to https://www.google.com/sky/
·        
      Here you can take a tour of sky by selecting different layers at the bottom (Solar System, constellations, Hubble Showcase and so on). Further, you can Pan, Zoom and search. For details read the description of image in popup balloon. Follow the below steps

·      Select the constellations layer from the bottom. Hover the cursor on the images of constellations at the bottom, read their names. Select the following constellations and take screenshots
o   Capricornus
o   Gemini
o   Leo
o   Scorpius

·        To explore Hubble space telescope’s deep sky imagery, select the Hubble Showcase layer. Select the following images, read the popup balloon. Write two to three lines description from it.  Close the popup balloon. Pan and zoom, and take screenshots.
o   Antennae Galaxies
o   Pinwheel Galaxy
o   Open Star Cluster in SMC
o   Great Orion Nebula
o   Crab Nebula

·        Now explore astronomical images from Chandra X-Ray observatory. Repeat the procedure as mentioned above.
o   Cartwheel Galaxy
o   Sombrero Galaxy
o   Cassiopeia A
o   Eta Carinae Nebula
o   M16

·        Now explore astronomical images from Spitzer space telescope. Repeat the procedure as mentioned above.
o   M81
o   NGC 1566
o   NGC3627
o   M51
